Matt Frattin will be playing on the Leafs third line when the team opens against the Montreal Canadiens, October 6. Frattin’s strong play in training camp might have earned him the spot regardless, but the knee injury incurred by Nazem Kadri ends any suspence.
Kadri’s sprained left knee will keep him out of the lineup from two to four weeks. Should he be out a month, the Leafs will have played two more preseason games and 10 regular season contests before his return.
