Jamaica will try to make some history on Sunday. The United States will do everything it can to avoid it. The Reggae Boyz aim to record their first win ever over the Americans in the Gold Cup quarterfinals at RFK Stadium. The Americans have never lost to their Caribbean foes, winning nine of 17, including seven of 10 on U.S. soil.The Jamaicans won all three of its first-round games, the only team to not allow a goal while scoring seven. The United States, a favorite to reach the final, won twice but lost to Panama 2-1.
The Americans have no such injury concerns, although they were forced to train without their two best attacking midfielders, Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey. Both received permission from coach Bob Bradley to attend their sisters' weddings in California and Texas, respectively. Donovan worked out with his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates on Friday, a U.S. Soccer spokesman said.
